UniKL Mestech is zealous to developing social responsibility literate graduates, engaging in health education projects and possesses an extraordinary positive values and attitudes.  Thus, we have a number of social responsibility signature programmes that embedded in teaching courses and community engagement process that ensure our efforts in making a difference to society.

Batam Island, Indonesia

Following the success of last year’s outreach program at aborigine village in Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia and Satun, Thailand, the Environmental Health section is determined to support the institute’s aim to serve the community as well as to inculcate technopreneurship skills among the students. This community program proposed to expand its horizon to the nearest international neighbor Indonesia, Desa Sembulang, Batam Island.


In order to achieve the goal of this event, many activities will be organized by Environmental Health’s students involving all UniKL students and the community. ‘School for ukhwah’, ‘Masjid restoration’, ‘Telekung/Toys for waqaf’, and computer aids are few of activities that was designed around health and safety. 

August 2017

Environmental Health students create the opportunity in on-going community service programming that addresses critical needs in local communities and at the same time enhances the students leadership skills.

Through fund rising and sponsorship from Malaysia, the construction of signage arch by Environmental Health student for Islamic School's dormitory at Desa Sembulang, Batam Island.

Our students extend their learning beyond the classroom in development of softskills and personality via community service programme ranging from on campus to across the globe.

UniKL offers the International Exchange Programme to expose students to the best of international community, cultures and practices beyond their boundaries.

It is hoping that conducting and involving in such activities, the Environmental health students would be able to raise the profile of environmental health profession and also give better understanding of this ever-growing field, as well as serve as community service trendsetter among the community and the UniKL individually.

Kampung Sungai Dua, Bentong Pahang

A signature programme was held in conjunction with World Environmental Day 2015 which is widely celebrated each year on 26th September to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environmental issues. The theme for year 2015 is ‘Children are our future let’s protect their Environment and Health’. This theme is dedicated to instill awareness and indicate debate among Environmental Health Professionals/students on the issue of the children’s health and safety and the solutions to reduce the environmental exposures and risks. This outreach programme was held at Perkampungan Orang Asli Sungai Dua, Bentong Pahang.

Health Education & Promotion Projects

Many social responsibility projects organized by UniKL Mestech prepares students for an administrative roles in addressing community’s health issues through educational resources. The projects revolve around developing, evaluating, implementing and promoting health intervention development especially in principles of medical science technology.
