The Bachelor of Environmental Health provides a good foundation of knowledge and skills

for students interested in starting a career in environmental health. The program integrates

a broad basic science background with emphasis on the identification, assessment, evaluation and control of

major environmental health problems such as water supply, waste disposal, food hygiene, occupational health, air pollution and others.

The application of environmental health knowledge, principles and methods is vital for the health of the general public.

Environmental Health Practitioners work to assess, manage, control and prevent environmental risks

through research, advocacy, and intervention at the community, national and global level. This programme has been accredited

by The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) since 2012.  



 Graduates are qualified to start their careers in environmental health officer positions

with local government authorities and ministries, and the state health departments.

The career opportunities are wide and diverse including policy roles, in private industries

including manufacturing, tourism, transport, food services, waste management, pest control and construction

as well as consulting firms and other entrepreneurial opportunities.
